Born from the hobby.
What began as a personal problem in a cluttered hobby room gradually evolved into a completely new idea for creative workspaces. Surrounded by paints, tools, miniatures, and constant chaos, the desire grew for a solution that would not only create order, but genuinely improve the creative process.
From the very first sketches and prototypes, one. slowly took shape — a modular system designed to adapt flexibly to different hobbies, workflows, and collections. Created by a hobbyist who faced these exact challenges every single day.
But it was never just about storage. It was about clarity, efficiency, inspiration, and making room again for what truly matters: creativity.
Today, one. is far more than just a shelf. It is the beginning of a modular ecosystem for creative people — born from genuine passion for the hobby and made for everyone who shares that passion.
The story of “one.”

2021
Pandora’s Box
It all began in early summer 2021 with a casual conversation about 3D printing. Shortly after, the first printer moved in — and digital ideas suddenly became real objects.
After the summer holidays, I discovered the incredible figures from Wicked Studios: Marvel, Star Wars — pure childhood memories. What started as a fascination with 3D printing quickly evolved into something more. The first models were printed, then painted — and a small experiment turned into a true passion.

2022
The Slow Escalation
What started with a few inexpensive paints and simple brushes quickly turned into much more. More paints followed, then better brushes, airbrush equipment, tools, terrain-building materials, and eventually an entire workspace dedicated to the hobby.
With every new technique, the passion kept growing: diorama building, weathering, terrain creation, resin printing, and miniature painting became part of everyday life. Even vacations suddenly turned into opportunities to collect sand, branches, and interesting textures for future projects.
At some point, space simply ran out. The old kitchen in the office had to go to make room for the hobby.

2023
Welcome to the Hobby Rabbit Hole
Paints on the table, brushes everywhere, overflowing cabinets, and the constant search for the right tool — the hobby room was slowly descending into chaos. The larger the collection became, the more time was spent searching instead of creating.
Even self-printed paint holders couldn’t keep up with the growing disorder for long.
A better solution was needed: modular, space-saving, flexibly expandable, and compatible with as many paint ranges as possible. A system that could grow alongside the hobby — while keeping the workspace clean and organized.

2024
The Birth of “one.”
The first sketches came together surprisingly quickly. At the same time, the core idea behind one. was born: interchangeable inserts for a wide variety of paints, tools, and hobby products. The inserts could be swapped, reorganized, and adapted to different manufacturers with ease. Even in the early concept phase, it became clear just how versatile and practical the system could become.
From the very beginning, one thing was certain: one. should not be made from plastic or rely entirely on 3D printing. Instead, wood was deliberately chosen as the primary material — durable, high-quality, sustainable, and perfectly suited to the minimalist character of the system.

2025
Because we are all otaku.
Countless prototypes were created. The goal was to organize as many paints and tools as possible within each compartment — optimized for size, shape, and purpose.
This eventually led to the five core insert types of one.: Planar, Step, Slope, Drawer, and Foam.
As soon as the first prototypes were mounted on the wall, it became immediately clear how much space, clarity, and calm the system brought to the workspace. With every evening spent painting, the excitement for the idea continued to grow.
The project was finally given its name: “otaku”. Inspired by the Japanese term for people who devote great passion and dedication to their hobby.

2026
one. takes the stage
In 2026, an idea became a real product. The first production run of one. and its initial inserts launched as a limited Premiere Edition.
At the same time, collaborations and conversations with well-known artists from the hobby and creative community began to grow.
A major highlight was the first own booth at the Intermodellbau. The feedback from visitors, artists, and retailers made one thing clear: one. had struck a nerve.
With the launch of the online shop, the next chapter had officially begun.

The Future of one.
one. is gradually evolving into a modular creative ecosystem. New inserts, a workbench system, solutions for diorama building and presentation, lighting, pegboards, a transport system, and many other expansions are already in development.
All products follow the same core philosophy:
they are modular by design and fully compatible with one another.
Our goal is to create a system that grows alongside its users, their projects, and their creativity.
And this is only the beginning.
